Trail Sports is please to announce that it is sponsoring a second National Team athlete for the 2012/13 season. Ivan Babikov - "the Russion Rocket" has been on the Canadian National Cross Country Ski Team since 2008 and has represented Canada at the Vancouver Olympic Games, World Cup events and World Championships. Ivan reisdes in Canmore with his wife and two children. Trail Sports is delighted to be associated with another outstanding local athlete.

We are offering a women's mountain bikiing improvement clinic on June 2 and 3, from 10 am to 3 pm each day.

The aim of the clinic is to build the confidence of riders who already feel comfortable on gravel roads (Banff Trail, Goat Creek) but would like to ride on technical single track. The clinic will cover downhill control and confidence,  gear selection for various terrain, energy efficient uphill riding. Basic trail side repairs will also be covered.

I am excited to write my first post for this Trail Sports column, where I hope to share my stories about life of a cross-country World Cup skier from Canada. A lot of people enjoy reading about what we do besides racing, and I’m happy to invite you into my world. Please feel free to comment and send me your feedback, positive or negative, send in your questions too, and I will be glad to answer.

Trail Sports will be assiting Dasha with her expenses for coaching and look forward to a successful season.

Dasha will be writing for our web site, giving an insite into her activities and life as a World Cup level athlete. Her first article will be posted this week.

Are you tired of skiing by yourself?  Would you like to ski in a group and meet new ski buddies?  Want to go beyond the Banff Trail but don't know where to go? 

We will be running group drop in lessons every day between December 26th and January 2nd. Classic lessons at 10:30 a.m. and noon. Skate lessons at 10:30 a.m. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the lesson time to register and get trail passes.

For Private lessons please book at least 24 hours in advance.
